Nuuksio Without a Car: Planning Your Day Trip

Nuuksio National Park in Espoo is easy to reach by public transport. Here is how to plan a forest day trip without a car.

Where to start?

The most popular gateway is the Finnish Nature Centre Haltia and Haukkalampi area in the east of the park. HSL suggests considering other gates, such as Siikaniemi, at weekends and in peak season.

By bus from Espoo Centre

Take a commuter train to Espoo Centre (Espoon keskus). From there, bus 245 (autumn to spring) or 245A (summer) runs to Nuuksio. From the Haukkalammentie stop it is about a 2 km walk to Haukkalampi.

Plan your return Buses run less often than in the city. Check return departures in the journey planner before you set off.

On the trail

• Several marked trails of different lengths start from the Haukkalampi area.
• Bring water, snacks and clothing for the weather.
